Colm Cuffe, Declan O'Rourke and Pat Whyte would like to announce that their companies, Tool & Plastic Co Ltd (T&P) and Irish Micro Mouldings (IMM) are entering into a co-operation agreement as of 4th March 2009. Both companies will share functional resources and each will concentrate on core competencies.

Tool & Plastic Co Ltd will concentrate on injection moulding, clean room manufacturing and program management.
Irish Micro Mouldings will concentrate on the painting, decorating, finishing and assembly of plastic components.

Both companies will jointly focus on developing micro moulding technology and a National micro moulding centre of excellence is being established. The purpose of the centre is to focus on product development, design, tooling, automation and assembly of micro components for the pharma, medical device and electronic sectors.

T&P is in business for over 41 years and has manufacturing operations in Ireland and the Czech Republic. In 2007 T&P moved to a state of the art manufacturing facility in Longford town where 80% of their business is in the medical device/healthcare sectors. The company also opened a new manufacturing facility in the Czech Republic in April 2008 to service the Central and Eastern European markets. T&P is ISO 13485 certified.

IMM was formed in 1985 as a medical moulder of small plastic parts. It is the oldest manufacturing company in the Gealtacht, located in Inverin, Co. Galway. The company primarily serves the healthcare and medical device industry sectors. It is ISO 9001:2000 accredited.

IMM was the first company In Ireland to pioneer specialist Micro Injection Moulding Technology and has state of the art Micro Moulding equipment. As well as being a specialist assembler and finisher of plastic components involving printing, shielding and painting the company has particular expertise in medical device product development.
